Julian was born in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Alan and Georgia Riley. He is survived by his sister Barbara Couch, Hamptonville, NC, numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. Julian was preceded in death by the love of his life, Margaret. They both were members of Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church. He also was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Julian grew up in Idaho Falls and in 1945 moved to Spokane. He is a graduate of Lewis Clark High School. He retired from the Spokesman Review after 30 years as a Mailroom Foreman. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies at MacDonald's. His motto in life was "Don't worry about the things you can't do be thankful for the things you can do." He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home 5100 W. Wellesley Ave.
