

Lyle Gillogly, 86, of Airway Heights, WA passed away Sunday June 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. He was born July 17, 1927 in Cloquet City, Minnesota to Clement and Elvera (Selen) Gillogly. He was raised there and attended school until joining the Navy. After his years of service he returned to the Northwest where he met and married Betty Lorenz on January 7, 1958.
Lyle operated heavy equipment on multiple projects and was known as being a hard, dependable worker. He loved the outdoors and fishing, and spent numerous hours on the road with his wife traveling throughout the states. He loved wildlife and visiting national parks. Though he had a rough exterior, he was gentle and kind and loved playing with his numerous nieces and nephews. Lyle was a special person and will be greatly missed.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Betty Gillogly; a brother Wendell Gillogly and a sister-in-law Ina Lorenz; nephews Dayvid Gillogly and John Campisi; nieces Kathi Tauer and Sue Welsh; great-nephews Shawn Gillogly; Lukas, Lincoln and Logan Welsh; and Adrian Tauer and great nieces Shannon Jensen, Darian and Jadyn Campisi, and Leah Welsh.
He is also survived by his Godchildren Shane, Shawn, and Trevor Thur.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 5, 2014 at 2:00pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with viewing an hour prior, entombment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane, WA.
