

Passed away January 10, 2017, in Spokane, WA. Marge was born September 25, 1922 to John W. and Grace (Mires) Kendrick in Grangeville, ID. She moved to Spokane as a child and was a lifetime resident. She graduated with perfect attendance from John Rogers High School in 1940. She then graduated from Kinman Business University and began her first job with McVay Roofing Co.
In 1944 she married the love of her life, John E. Steele. Marge and John bought a cabin at Newman Lake in 1955 and enjoyed many sunny summers entertaining and making wonderful memories with family and friends. During the ’60s they owned and worked together at the Country Store on Northwest Blvd. Marge then worked for Washington State Employment Security as a job counselor, retiring in 1987.
John passed away too soon in 1978. In the years following Marge enjoyed traveling, playing cards in a pinochle group and with family, stays at the lake, visits to Kirkland, and outings and dinners with her friend Bud Holliday.
Marge is survived by her daughter Jonell (Bill) Boyeson; granddaughter Jennifer (Nick) Davis; and great granddaughter Zoey Davis (age 5).
Marge lived in her house until a fall in 2015. Since then she lived at the Riverview Retirement Community. Her last two days were spent with loving care at Hospice House South.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 1 PM, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane, WA, followed by a reception at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home.
