

Norm passed away March 17, 2018 in Spokane Valley, WA. He was born to Anita and Ralph Harding in Walla Walla, WA on February 2, 1939. He attended Pioneer High School in Walla Walla before transferring to Roger’s High School in Spokane, where he graduated in 1957. Throughout high school Norm was a natural athlete and excelled at football, basketball and baseball, including being on the all-star Pony League, and all-city football and basketball teams. He graduated from Whitworth College where he also excelled in athletics. He went on to play AAA baseball for the Yankee organization.
Norm worked for the Great Northern (later Burlington Northern) Railroad until his retirement. He loved fishing and bowling, where he earned numerous perfect games. He will be remembered as exceptionally kind and generous by his family and the many people he took into his care throughout his life. Norm never met anyone he didn’t like.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dick Harding; and daughter Tami Ellis. He is survived by his first wife and high school sweetheart, Gloria Burns Harding; wife Kymm Harding; children Norman Harding, Jr., Todd Harding, Jonathin Campbell, Suzan (Jeffrey Thomas) Harding, Cindi Harding, Bobbi Jo “BJ” Harding, and Kyle Harding; brother Don Harding; sister Malinda Halford; siblings-in-law Jerry (Jan) Ahartz, Ross “Butch” Noble, Tamara (David) Salcido, and Tracy Ahartz-Siegel; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A potluck Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, 5-8 PM, at the Eagles Club, 6410 N Lidgerwood, Spokane, WA.
