

Nuala Bernadette Lyons, age 79, died on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in her home in Spokane, Washington. From her birth in Dublin, Ireland, on August 19, 1938 to her death on Thursday, she nourished people around her with her love and faith. She enjoyed attending mass daily, as well as travel to Europe annually. She was born to Séamus and Theresa McKenna, and was the youngest of five children. In 1961, she met John James Lyons, and began their romantic relationship. They wed on April 25, 1963 in Dublin. Left to honor Nuala and remember her love are her three children, Kevin Lyons of Spokane, Bernadette (Lyons) Buck of Spokane, and Sean Lyons of Vancouver, Washington; and three grandsons; Brock Steven Lyons of Redmond, Washington, Riley Shane Lyons of Vancouver, and John Patrick Lyons of Dothan, Alabama; and siblings, brother, Pierce McKenna of Ireland, and sister, Joan (McKenna) Chaplin of England. She was proceeded in death by her father, Séamus; mother, Theresa; son, Niall Lyons (October 26, 2009); and her husband, John (June 4, 2017). The funeral mass was held at St. Thomas More, Spokane, Washington, on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
