Shirley Ohler unexpectedly died while napping when on a family campout on the Pend Orielle River surrounded by family. She was born to Esther and Frank Freter, who worked their family farm in Valleyford, WA, and on which she lived when she passed. Shirley attended Elementary School at Valleyford and graduated from Freeman High School. She also attended one plus years at SCC. Shirley spent most of her life as a stay-at-home Mom and superior home maker. She worked 10 years, part time, for the League of Women Voters. She was an active member of Spokane’s First Free Methodist Church. She was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the local Army National Guard Units. Shirley is survived by her loving husband Arthur (Art) Ohler; two loving children Jodi James (Paul) and Jeffrey Ohler (Adele) both of Spokane; three grandchildren Haley Iris (AJ) of Ft Worth, TX, Kaleb Ohler of Spokane, and Trace Ohler of Nampa, ID; and one great-grandchild Ryder Iris. Memorial service will held at The First Free Methodist Church, 1725 W Courtland, Spokane, WA, on Sep 27, 2025, at 2PM.
