Steven Gerard Olivet, a lifelong resident of Spokane, passed away on August 18, 2024. Born on February 21, 1949, to Louis and Mary Jeanne Olivet, he graduated from St. Augustine grade school in 1963, Gonzaga Prep in 1967, and Gonzaga University in 1980.
Steve had a deep passion for history, old music, and classic movies. He loved sharing his knowledge and lending books and records to those interested.
Although he majored in Accounting, Steve worked for the Spokane School District, helping disabled students until his retirement, notably at Cooper Elementary. He was a kind and gentle soul who touched many lives.
Steve is survived by his cousins Jim Johnson, Tom and David Johnson, Dr. Roger Ecker, and Dr. Joseph Ecker.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery.
