Frances Gibson. Their family moved to Tucson AZ. When she was 8. She graduated from
Sahuaro HS in 1978. Tamara attended U of A and Pima community college. After working as an

friend in Tempe, AZ. She was then set up on a blind date by her best friend at the time Rita
Becker. Rita’s boyfriend had a close friend named Rex griffith. They quickly hit it off and she
moved to Mesa, AZ. to live with Rex in 1988.
Tamara continued to work at K-Mart in Mesa until she got a job at the house of fabrics where
she quickly moved up to Manager of crafts and hobbies. Sewing and crafts were her favorite
hobby. From making doll clothes, to making sundresses and cute tops for her god-daughter.
Tamara enjoyed anything and everything craft related, it’s safe to say she was a perfect fit for
this job. In 1996, after a year of convincing her it was a good idea, Tamara agreed to move to
Rex’s hometown, Spokane, WA. Once here, she went to SCC and earned her certificate for
medical transcription. Tamara did this for over 20 years, mostly working from home. They bought a home
in the south Perry district in 2002. The last 6 years Tamara became deeply involved with the
SPBNA and the Thursday Market, where she met and made friends with more of our neighbors,
the vendors and regulars at the Thursday Market.
