Reverend Thomas R. Ledbetter

Pastor Tom passed away in Spokane, WA on March 26, 2012. Tom was born October 24, 1934 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Robert and Susauna Ledbetter. Tom graduated at North Central High School in 1953. He married Betty J. Wiggins in 1954 and together started their family. They had two daughters Cheryl and Tracy. Tom served as a member at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Spokane and with encouragement from his pastor, wife and friends he realized that his calling was to become a pastor. Tom moved his family to St. Paul, Minnesota where he graduated at Northwestern Theological Lutheran Seminary in 1972. His internship was at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran in Baltimore, MD. His first parish was at Emmanuel Lutheran in Yelm, WA. Tom was proud to be pastor for many congregations including: Grace Lutheran in Spokane, WA, Christ Lutheran in Fairbanks, AK, Bethany Lutheran in Spanaway, WA, Faith Lutheran in Soap Lake, and Lutheran Presbyterian Parish in Potlatch, WA as well as interim pastor for several others.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Betty; two daughters; Cheryl Whalen (Tom Whalen) and Tracy Allen (Bob Allen); two grandsons, Collin Lazelle and Jeff Allen and two granddaughters Robyn Peterson and Beth Whalen. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim and sister, Suzanne. Pastor Tom, would always close his services with the words "Go in peace. Serve the Lord." in a clear and cheerful voice, a testimony to his strongest belief. Tom will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Lutheran Church, 314 S Spruce St, Spokane, WA 99201 on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pastor Tom's name to All Saints Lutheran Church.
