

Virgil R Taylor, age 91, passed away September 16, 2012, in Spokane, WA. He was born May 7, 1921, in Seminole, OK, to Monroe and Flora Rosetta (Wallace) Taylor. Virgil was a World War II combat veteran with the US Army Air Corp. He served as a radio operator and gunner on B-17 Bombers, and was twice awarded the Purple Heart. A resident of the Spokane area for over 60 years, Virgil spent several years as a successful salesman for WMA Insurance, and later worked as a stockbroker. Virgil will be remembered by many as a land developer, a career in which he prospered for many years, retiring in his 70’s. He also enjoyed time spent as a ham radio operator for a number of years. Virgil is survived by his wife of 67 years, Erma Taylor, of Colbert, WA; son, Larry Taylor, of Chattaroy, WA; daughter, Susan Kosoff (Mike), of Spokane; four grandchildren, Tim, Larry, Joel ,and Jeff; four great-grandchildren, Raelene, Danielle, Liberty, and Isaiah; sister, Phyllis Bailey; brother, Junior Taylor (June); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Preston Taylor. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, September 21, 2012, at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W. Wellesley. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
