Mom was born March 17, 1914 to James D. Doyle and Zoe Inez (Wade) Doyle in Spokane, WA. She was the fourth of seven children, who have all preceded her in death. She slipped away to be with Jesus on July 22, 2010, in the arms of her family. She graduated with honors from both Libby Junior High in 1929 and Lewis & Clark High School in 1932 in Spokane. She met A.C. “Bud” Hogan on a blind date and they were married January 1933. They were married for 70 years. She is survived by two sons & their wives, Duane (Ruby) Hogan, Jim (Jeri) Hogan; five grandchildren and their spouses, Marci (Lynne) Mabbutt, Jeffrey (Cindy) Hogan, Caryl (Buddy) Crawford, Patrick (Janet) Hogan, and Kellene (Doug) Groshong; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking, and was always delighted when she could teach others - particularly her grandchildren. She also taught herself to play the piano. Professionally she was a bookkeeper for Great Western Fuel and other businesses. If anything went wrong with any of the bookkeeping machines, just give mom a pair of pliers, a wrench and screwdriver and it was soon fixed. For several years she worked side-by-side with her husband in Hogan Cabinet’s. During World War II Dad and Mom moved to the West Coast where dad built munitions storage and barracks and Mom joined the ranks of the famous Rosie the Riveters. Mom welded on the ships standing 12-30 ft above ground level. Later she was transferred to encryption. We thank all of you who were a part of her life. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 1:30pm, followed by a Memorial service at 1:30pm, Monday, August 2, 2010 at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Family requests that any donations be sent to Horizon Hospice of Spokane, 123 W Cascade, Spokane, WA 99208.
