
John Thomas Staples was born on May 20, 1946, at the Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee to parents John R. and Blanche (Sabin) Staples. On April 6, 1968, he was united in marriage to Lynn L. Gardner in Brookfield, Wisconsin. John was able to see much of the United States as he worked as an over the road truck driver, charter bus driver, and school bus driver taking students on cross county trips. In 1988, the Lord called the couple to Spooner where John was a bi-vocational Pastor at the Grace Baptist Church in Spooner, in 1998 started the Word of God Fellowship on Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation near Minocqua, and lately has been an attendee of the Northern Lights Christian Center in Hayward. In John’s younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and most recently he had worked as a maintenance and groundskeeper at the Hayward McDonalds.
John died on Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Essentia Heath System- Spooner at the age of 65.
John is survived by his wife Lynn of Spooner, daughter Rose (Duane) Muller of Spooner, grandson Jordan Muller of Spooner, brother Jim (Darlene) Staples of Menomonee Falls, WI, Donald (Linda) Staples of Cedarburg, WI, and several nephews and nieces.
John is preceded in death by his parents.
