

Agustin “Gus” Vazquez Jr., 78 of Spring Hill, passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2026. Gus was born in San Lorenzo, PR on June 8, 1947, and lived there until he was 8 years old. After which he moved to Philadelphia with his mother, Ramonita, and stepfather, Francisco Perez.
He graduated from Edison High School and went into the Army following graduation. A year after leaving the Army he met his soulmate, Ada. They later went on to marry in June of 1970. During their marriage Gus worked in Logistics and Law Enforcement. He started his driving career working for Universal of Riverside, New Jersey, and later for Mason and Dixon of Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Then became a police officer and dispatcher for the Police Department of Mt. Holly, New Jersey. He later became a Correctional Officer at the advisement of his father-in-law, Julio. He retired as a Sgt. from the Department of Corrections of New Jersey after 25 years. Gus loved music, sports (particularly baseball) and gardening. He played for a local Mt. Holly men’s baseball league named Yado Baseball Team. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Antonio Perez, and Francisco Perez, Jr.
Gus is survived by his wife, Ada Vazquez, and his children Maria Vazquez, Francisco Vazquez and Ruben Vazquez, grandchildren Anthony Perkins, Amber Vazquez, Jazlynn Perkins, Alissa Vazquez, Brianna Vazquez, Domiella Vazquez and Angelea Vazquez, sister, Aida Camacho, brothers Alexander, Johnny “John” Perez, and four great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on January 31, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, located at 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. The funeral service will follow on the same day at the same location from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A committal service will take place at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 14354 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
