Amelia Jenkins

Amelia Jenkins, 89, of Spring Hill, Florida, peacefully passed away on January 21, 2025, at The Residences of Timber Pines. Born on January 7, 1936, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, Amelia graduated as Valedictorian from St. Mary's High School, where she later married her high school sweetheart, Lamont (Monty) Jenkins, on February 19, 1955.

As a dedicated homemaker and passionate golfer, she was a vibrant member of the Timber Pines Golf Community for many years. Amelia cherished her large extended family and friends throughout her journey, which included living in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Florida. She was also a devoted member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish.

Amelia had a zest for travel and deeply valued her time spent with family. She served as a wellspring of support, joy, and love for everyone around her.

She is survived by her sons, Monty Jr. of Greensburg, PA; Mark and his wife Sarah of Beloit, WI; and Paul of Plano, TX; daughters Joni and her husband Jerry Gigliotti of Plano, TX; Judy and her husband Denny Rosatti of Greensburg, PA; and Cathy and her husband Jeff Ellis of Beloit, WI; along with 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Frank Santo, and his wife Gretta of Hernando Beach, FL.

Amelia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Monty, and her four sisters: Mary Ann Burton, Sharon Bates, Marsha Smales, and Gayle Smales.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Residence at Timber Pines and HPH Hospice for the loving care they provided for her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HPH Hospice or St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in her name.

A visitation for Amelia will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 5030 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 14360 Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill, FL 34609.
