He was born in Alpena, Michigan on September 11, 1949.

He married Deborah L. Cross on October 18, 2003.
Arthur Cross worked as a clergy and musician for Wesleyan Churches.
He was a member of Brooksville Community Church, and had a passion for preaching, music, and painting.
He was survived by his children Fonda Miller, Dennis and Tiffany Sailors, grandchildren Dustin and Cassie
West, Trey Sailors, and Ellis Miller, great grandchildren Leyton Creed West, and his brother Duane Cross.
