Bertie E. Turnley, 89, passed with peace and grace on July 24th, 2015, at her home in Spring Hill, Florida, with family by her side. Bertie was born February 16th, 1926, in Manhattan, Montana, the daughter of Raymond E. Ross and Magdelene Verwolf. Predeceased by her loving husband Harold in 2008. Survived by her sons Kenneth John (Nora), Dennis John (Victoria), Douglas John, Steven John (Jeanette), and Timothy McGrath (Suzane); brothers Carl Ross, Walter Ross, and Ray Ross; sisters Corabelle Nelson, Lucille Hedrich and Patty Stonebraker. Bertie was predeceased by her son Kevin McGrath; brother Clyde Ross; sisters Velma Uylaki, Vernia Danley, Irene Baker, IdaMay Rush, Dolly Morton and Edith Ross. An avid golfer, Bertie was a member of the Desert Aire, Washington golf community who never forgot her many close friends there after moving to Florida. She was a true sports fan who would always root for the Seattle Seahawks and adopted the Tampa Bay Rays as “her” team. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister; always ready to give a big hug. Bertie will be missed but never forgotten. A memorial service will be held on a date yet to be determined in Washington State.
