

Clayton A. Myers, 86, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017. Clayton was born to George and Gladys (Cota) Myers in South Burlington, Vermont. As a young boy, he worked for his grandfather selling produce and gladiolus on Williston Road, when it was still a dirt road. He joined the Air Force and was assigned his first tour in 1951, and served 20 years before retiring in 1970. He then moved with his family back to Vermont. During his Air Force career, Clayton was very active with the Boy Scouts as a Scout Master while his sons’ grew up. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially when he was stationed in Alaska. Clayton started working for New England Telephone in 1971, from which he retired in 1990. After retiring, he moved to Spring Hill, Florida, and spent his summers in Vermont for a few years. Clayton took up golf in Spring Hill and enjoyed it very much. He was a great, loving father and grandfather. He was always ready to step in and help when he was needed. Clayton was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Sylvia Burke and his first wife, Hilda Bruce Myers. He leaves behind, his loving wife of six years, Ruth Carolyn Cox Myers; four children Donald and wife Elaine; Donna Constant and husband Leo; Dwayne and wife Darla, and Doug and his wife Donna; step daughters Kathy Anderson and her husband Dennis; Miki Hunt; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Funeral service will be 11AM Friday, August 4, 2017 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1214 Broad St., Masaryktown, FL 34604.
