Donald Earl McConnell, age 80, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 4:08PM at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida following several years of Wegner’s Granulomatosis; illness.
He was born November 21, 1944, in Dowagiac, MI, the son of Francis Leland and Helen Lucern (Gooding) McConnell.
On February 14, 1970, in Marcellus, MI, he married Geraldine E. (Maxwell) Spencer, who survives.
He graduated from Marcellus, MI, High School in 1962. He also attended Western Michigan University for 2 years. Donald served in the United States Navy from July 30, 1964, to July 29, 1968. He retired from the National Security Agency.
Surviving are 2 sons, Dean of Pennsylvania, Robyn of Spring Hill, FL: three grandsons, Zachary McConnell, Declan McConnell, and Andrew McConnell, one great- granddaughter Mila McConnell, and a brother Charles McConnell of Brunswick OH.
He is preceded in death by his son Timothy Wayne, parents, brother F. Ray McConnell, and a sister Mary L. (McConnell) Gard.
