Donna D. Mattingly

Donna D. Mattingly, age 74, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on Ash Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Donna was born November 3, 1947 in Benham, Ky. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1965 and attended UL and Ky State College. Donna married Joseph Stephen Mattingly on July 17, 1971.

After high school she went into the Army and served overseas during Vietnam as an Army tech in the medical core. She was on the Army's first women's pistol team. She raised a family of 3 children. Later on, she joined the Catholic faith and enjoyed teaching CCD classes in the Catholic schools. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, fishing and traveling.

Donna is survived by her husband, Joseph Stephen Mattingly; son, Jeremy Mattingly; and daughter's, Trina Mattingly and Tricia Renee Mattingly; grandchild, Mia Lyshea Jones-Mattingly; sister's, Leona Hunter and Deana Lingerfelt; and brother, Donnie DeBoard.

A prayer service for Donna will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, where gathering of family & friends will take place Monday, March 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A mass will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 11:00 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34601. A burial follow at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513, with military honors.

A reception will follow at the V.F.W. Post 8681, 18940 Drayton St., Spring Hill, FL. Donations are welcome to be given to V.F.W. post 8681.
