Eduardo L. Velez

Eduardo L. Velez, 81, of Spring Hill Florida, passed away December 24th 2022.

He was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to humble beginnings on October 6th 1941. Eduardo graduated from University of Puerto Rico and earned a Masters degree, after which, he

would serve for many years as a Police Officer and Police Lieutenant in Puerto Rico. After retiring he loved to spend his days gardening in his “finca”, cheering for the Tampa Bay Rays, playing dominoes with friends, and spending as much time as he could with loved ones

He is survived by his significant other of almost 10 years, Aida “Margie” Zayas. His children, Nancy Velez Yambo, Iraida Velez Yambo, Evelyn Velez Toro, and Eduardo Velez Jr., his brother Hiram David Velez Lagares, as well as seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren with one on the way. He was also loved and survived by his bonus families, the Scotti’s, the Zayas’, the Nill’s, and the Cunningham’s.

He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Eduardo will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A burial will occur Friday, December 30, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 14354 SPRING HILL DR, SPRING HILL, FL 34609. A reception will occur Friday, December 30, 2022 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609.
