MSGT Ernest B. "Ernie" Holcomb USAF (ret)

Ernest B. Holcomb, 80, of Brooksville, FL entered into rest Friday, April 13, 2018. Born August 27, 1937 in Lizemore, WV, he was the son of the late Ernest Joe and Alma (Jones) Holcomb. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lawrence Samples; in-laws, Delbert and Sadie (Salisbury) Ramsey; brother, Darrell Holcomb; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Marie Casto; niece, Brenda Crenshaw; and nephews, Matthew Holcomb and Gary Casto. Ernie is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia (Ramsey) Holcomb and loving daughter, Teresa Holcomb; brother, Kendell (Charlotte) Holcomb of TX; sister-in-law, Marilyn Holcomb of CA; sisters, Rosemary (Jack) McClung of KY, Shirley Wolfe of OH and Lois Golembrowski of AZ. He graduated from Clay County High School in the class of 1956. Ernie was retired from both the Air Force after 22 years of service, and the U.S. Post Office after 18 years. He enjoyed gardening and meeting friends at McDonald’s for coffee and solving the world’s problems. Ernie was a member of Eden Baptist Church, as well as a Mason and Shriner. He was a man of integrity and honor who loved his church, family and friends. The family would like to add a special thank you to our friends, church family and the doctors and nurses at the hospitals who cared for him. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Eden Baptist Church, 22308 Lake Lindsey Rd, Brooksville, FL 34601. Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the service at 11:00 am, and interment will follow the service at Lake Lindsey Cemetery.
