

Iris Rosario, of Spring Hill, also known as Brenda to many family and close friends passed away November 13, 2015. She was a new resident of Spring Hill, FL moving from Bronx, NY in February 9, 2015. Iris was born in 1929, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to the late Francisco & Juana Santiago. She moved to the Bronx from Puerto Rico in the 1950’s and continued to work as a seamstress in the garment industry for a total of 10 years, both in Puerto Rico and the Bronx, NY. Iris was well known as an avid shopper, loved to do word puzzles, and was very active in her youth in sports. She participated as a weight lifter, bowler and other activities with her husband. Iris was very fond of the St. Luke Catholic Church field trips to Atlantic City, NJ and was a very active, longtime member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Bronx, NY, where she volunteered in many church activities. Iris was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Carlos Rosario, Sr.; as well as her sisters; Beatrice, Naomi and Mercedes; and grandson, Daniel. Iris is survived by her daughter, Brenda of Lakeland, FL; son, Carlos and his wife Jeanette of Spring Hill, FL; daughter, Gail and her husband Carlos of Spring Hill, FL; brother, Harry; sister in Christ, Hilda; grandchildren; Elaina, David, Norman Jr., Crystal, Maritza, Michael, Justine, and Janae. She also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren; Destin, Arianna, Valentina, & Sage; and by her loving niece, Gloria which Iris affectionately called Cherry. Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 10 until time of service at 11am at the Turner Funeral Home Spring Hill Chapel, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, Florida 34609. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations be made to the Victorious Life Church, Spring Hill Campus, Missions Fund, 18924 County Line Road, Spring Hill, FL. 34610
