He was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Julius Boyd and Janet Louise Ellis. Jim graduated from USF with a bachelor’s degree. He had a career in banking and the financing industry with SunTrust and Coffman Capital.
Jim had a passion for his family, backgammon, reading, storytelling, sports and music.
He is survived by his son, Timothy James Ellis; grandchildren, Thea Ellis and Levi Ellis; sister, Kathryn Kimberly Ellis. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
