Just thinking about you James , I love you.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we lost you. This last year, this world has been noticeably rougher without your presence. There are a lot of times where I suddenly think of you, and I wonder if that’s your way of checking on me and the rest of everyone else.

It took me a while to come up with what to say as the year marker passed, I still don’t believe it’s real, and I’d give anything to make it just a bad nightmare, instead of reality.

I hope you can see how hard I’m working to become the person I’ve always told you I wish I could be. You gave me the support I needed when it was needed the most. I owe a lot to you, and I wish there was a way to repay it, other than to simply keep moving forward.

I miss you brother.

I can't believe it's been a year. I still reread our old chats from time to time, I still send videos I know you would like but never see. The old games we used to play don't feel the same anymore with our back and forth banter. I miss you man and I love you.

James my son, today you would have been 30.  Not a second goes by that I don't think of you. I try to be strong and hold back the tears but I  can't.   I miss you more everyday.  I wait for you to walk in the front door then realize you will never come through that door again.  My heart aches.  I love you so much.  Happy Birthday my baby boy.

Every day without you is another day that I miss you. I still read our old chats and always look at your Xbox status whenever I get on. Love you forever man ♥️

Still think about you every day, I miss you brother.

These are the hardest words to write.  We will never get to feel your warm hugs or see your sweet smile. Our wonderful, kind son is now gone.
You were loved by so many, considered a best friend to so many of your friends.  Some people never have a best friend their whole life, but you were one to many.  We hope you know how much they loved you too.
The future will be so sad without you in our lives. We miss you and love you so much, always and forever.

I met James when he was hired at my work with my husband at Publix. They kicked it off and became great friends so of course in turn, he became a great friend to me also. This is the last photo I have of him from June 2024 at my daughter's 3rd birthday party. She loved him so much. We think about him everyday and hurts to not be able to hear his voice and laugh or see him anymore. James and my husband had plans to fix up my husbands old truck together when it got cooler out. It doesn't feel real that he's not here. We will always love you James.

To my little brother James,
My life will never be the same. I remember your adorable baby face, your sweet disposition and your dimpled smile. I remember laughing at “metal flake” and taking you to the movies when I would come down to visit. You were always a better gamer than me and had a heart of gold. We shared so many memories and conversations about life. I don’t know how I am going to face a future without you in it.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I have had this page up for probably close to a week. I still can’t find words to sum up 18 years of memories with my best friend. From the time I was 10 playing together basically everyday, all of the memories we had, inside jokes I will never laugh with anyone else, all of the talks about so many different things, my kids being excited when he would come over and how raiden would force him to play with her; but he didn’t mind it because he enjoyed making everyone happy. 

Earlier this year, James had bought some of his closest friends a watch. He had mentioned it would be really cool if the next time I jumped, I would jump the watch he bought me. I had returned from the event and grabbed this screenshot to show him the watch he bought me had been jumped and he was very happy about that. The reason this picture of jumping his gift is special to me is because this happened the afternoon before he passed. This was the last thing I ever told him. 

James was the best man that I’ve ever met. The rest of my life will have an empty space without him, and I will make sure his memory stays alive.

The news of your passing lingers like a shadow overhead. I can’t make sense of it, and it still hurts to acknowledge that you're gone.

I met you in high school, and even though I was a grade above you, it never felt like it. I remember always hanging out with you and your ROTC buddies in the cafeteria and gym class, and you always made me feel like I belonged. We used to play basketball, and every assist you passed to me was perfect. You, me, and Andrew Sposa made an unlikely trio on the court, dominating day in and day out.

My fondest memory will always be the night you came over with Jimmy Kessner and his brother. You brought the Xbox, Jimmy brought the pizza, and I had the big flat screen. We played Call of Duty Zombies for hours, laughing and talking smack all night long.

I wish times were simpler, with fewer responsibilities. I wish I could see you around town again. I wish you had seen the light in the darkness.

I miss you, brother. I’ll never forget you—your humor, your kindness, your smile.

It's going to be different without you now. We had so much planned for the future and it's my regret that we didn't meet our goals together.

We met in sophomore year of high school, where we would sit together for lunch. What I didn't know at that time is that would become my best friend. 

Even after highschool we would still hangout on a regular basis. This picture is of James and Dan Magliolo where they pose in front of my Jeep which we had just made a highway decoration. Needless to say that was not the only dumb thing we did. 

We had a lot good nights hanging out in my parents garage, and eventually my home. I wish I could bring those days back. 

I miss you brother and I always will. You were truly a salt of the earth human, and truly the best friend you could ever hope to have. I'll see you again someday and I know we'll catch up like nothing ever happened.

James was such a prefect soul 💕The laughs and joyful moments he brought my high school years means a lot to me. You were a light that brought joy into my life and showed me everything. I appreciate you! Rest in peace! I’ll miss you James I really do! Thank you for everything!

James was one of my best friends for almost 20 years, the longest tenure as a best friend to me. I was in 6th grade and he was in 5th grade. I don't have a biological brother, but James was the closest to being one. 2000 characters isn't nearly enough to talk about him, but I shall do my best.

We could talk about legitimately anything from the dumbest to the most serious topics. Politics, video games, sports, relationships, school, funny YouTube videos from back in the site's early days and more recently, etc. So many inside jokes were shared back and forth. We were going to be best man at each other's weddings. We were going to sit on a porch as old men as our elderly alter egos, Chester and Earl. There were so many things in the future that were supposed to occur.

It's difficult to accept those things will never happen. There are so many things I wish I could say to and hear from James just one more time. But as painful as it is, I still look back fondly on all the memories. I will do my best to keep his memory alive. He deserves to be remembered.

James...love you, brother.

James, you were an older brother to me. You’d been apart of my life since I was just a kid working at a grocery store. You were there for me in those times. You were there for me always. We talked about our dreams and plans for fixing up our cars. The laughs we shared and music you introduced me to, I will cherish always. Genuinely, you were and always will be a great guy. Someone once called you the gentle giant and what a perfect way to describe you. I think about you often. I’ve thought about you everyday. My brother and I miss you dearly. With all of this said, I am sending your family my love and thoughts.
I will always remember the mark you left on my life.

When I was in High School James was my first friend, really my first actual friend ever in this life. We went through periods of falling out of touch and then back in, but every time I was always met with a warm reception as if we never stopped hanging out or talking regularly. James, you will truly be missed by everyone that has come in and out of your life. My deepest condolences and sympathies to his family and everyone else that has been touched by James.

I just don’t know where to start…or how to even write this to begin with…James when you first came back into my life you had sent me a message on Facebook asking if I remembered you. Of course I remembered you! Once we had gotten back in touch we talked for hours and every single day after that. Days turned into weeks; weeks turned into months and eventually months turned into years. We talked about everything, we had some conversations that made us laugh, we talked about life and what we wanted the most from it, we even discussed things that we didn’t feel comfortable telling others. We always confided in each other about almost everything. In 2019 I was in a really dark place, you were there for me when no one else was. If it weren’t for your kindness, love, compassion and goofiness; I probably wouldn’t have been here today…You were always checking in on me every chance you got to make sure I was okay. You never went a day without talking to me during that time period. James, I am so grateful for the times you were there for me, offering your support and kindness when I needed it most. I only wish I could have been as strong for you as you were for me, and I hope you knew how much you meant to me. I just wish we had more time...

James, may you rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories you've left behind. Your warmth, kindness, and generosity touched so many lives, and you will always hold a special place in our hearts. Though you’re no longer with us, your spirit will live on in the lives of everyone you've touched. You will be deeply missed.

To James’s family, I am very sorry for your loss. James was an amazing friend to everyone.  He had a way of making everyone feel valued and cared for, and his kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met. James was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed by all of us who were lucky enough to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

I'm more then devastated to see the loss of one of my absolute best friends on this earth. James was like a big brother to me for years, always having my back through thick and thin. We shared countless days hanging out in the neighborhood we grew up in. He was a beacon of inspiration to me, an endless source of comradery.

To your family I hope that they know how much you meant to us and how good of a friend you were to us, we will look out for you’re Ma and Dad and will always be there for them.

I don't know what to say other than how much I love you, you were more than a friend, you were a brother to me and an uncle to my boys. Not a single day goes by where I don't cry for you and look back through all of our messages. I wish your family nothing but love through this time as I'm sure they miss you more than I do. I know we'll hang out again in the future.

Words cannot express how saddened I was when I heard of his passing. He wasn't just a dear friend, he was an excellent human being.

James's family and friends should be proud of the man he had become, and should feel honored to have known him. I don't know if I will ever truly feel whole again without his friendship.

You are my brother, you have always supported me with love, with brotherhood, and with compassion. I would not be here without you, and what you have given me will never be forgotten. I will live the life you helped me grow. I just wish that you could see it with me.

James Semack was one of the best men that   I have ever known. He was the best friend you could ever ask for. This man was someone who you could trust with your life. No matter what James always had your back. James was a very compassionate soul and understood people. His intelligence and integrity were exemplary. You could talk with James for hours about anything. In truth, James was always there for you when you needed him . It was always a pleasure to spend time with him. We did a lot together with our small circle. James loved the outdoors and hiking the most. Everyone that met James was left with a good impression. He was very polite, kind, and easy to talk to. Overall, he was an amazing person. James Semack will be forever remembered in our hearts and memories. He will not be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
