Janet T. Wright

Janet passed away March 2, 2025, at the age of 88 after a brief illness. She was born June 22, 1936, daughter of the late Sophie Rose Ostrowski and Albert Joseph Treier in Phoebus, Va. Janet was a military daughter and wife having lived in a number of states as well as Europe and the Far East. She moved to Tampa / MacDill AirForce Base in 1963 as her husband’s new duty station. While in Tampa she was an active mom and devout supporter of Interbay Little League baseball, girls’ softball and later horses along with her husband Chic.

Janet moved to Brooksville in the late 70’s for country living on acreage to have horses in her back yard. As a youth, she started riding in Europe while stationed with her father, horses came back to play a larger role in her family with her daughters’ and granddaughter’s equestrian activities. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

In her earlier career she worked in financial positions with the DOD. Janet retired as a Financial Aid Officer assisting students in pursuit of higher education. After retirement she continued to stay busy working in finance and tax preparation.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chic” Wright and daughter Karen Wright, Brothers Gene A. Treier and John J. “JT” Treier

Survived by daughter Susan Wright of Brooksville, FL, son Chip Wright, daughter in-law Linda Wright, grandchildren Jesse Wright and Sydney Wright, granddaughter in-law Crystal Wright and great grandchildren Cameron, Ryan, and Dylan Wright all of Tampa, FL., along with Niece Melody Sandell and nephew John J. Treier, Jr.

A visitation for Janet will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34601. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill, FL 34609.
