

Joseph A. “Joe” Caban, age 79, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center in Brooksville. He and his family moved to Spring Hill 37 years ago from Hialeah, Fl. Joe was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on August 9, 1937 and moved to New York with his family. Joe was a retired disabled maintenance mechanic. Joe was one of 10 children and he loved his family dearly. Joe’s greatest passion was giving of his time selflessly by helping others. He also enjoyed tinkering in the garage repairing things. But most of all he was a man of faith and loved to share the Word of God with all. Joe is pre-deceased by his father Maximino Caban-Badillo and his mother Brigida Caban-Badillo both from Spring Hill and Puerto Rico. He is also pre-deceased by his sisters; Lydia McKinley and Carmen Flavell and his brother Raymond Rodriguez. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Norma (Deniz) Caban. He is also survived by his daughters; Josie Guillen and Aileen (Tom) Houck, all of Spring Hill, FL and Normajean (Shawn) Hagerman, of Greenville, SC. Joe will be deeply missed by his grandchildren that includes; granddaughters; Rachel Guillen and Rebecca Fiore of Spring Hill, grandsons; Shawn Hagerman, Alex Hagerman, Ben Hagerman, and Caleb Hagerman, all of Greenville, SC. And great grandchildren; Vinny Fiore, Gabby Fiore, Bella Fiore, and Olivia Shephard, all of Spring Hill. Joseph also leaves behind his siblings; sisters, Delfina D’Agnese, Emma Perlow, Blanca Nwelatti, and Nilsa Hidalgo, and brothers; Kilmer Caban, and David Caban. Joseph’s care and services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Home and the burial will take place at the Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 14354 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. Joe’s family and friends will gather at graveside on Monday, August 15, 2016, from 2:30 – 3PM. The Graveside Service will be led by Pastor Roberto Michel, of the Victorious Life Church, in Spring Hill, FL.
