Joseph Edward Ferrara

Joseph Edward Ferrara, 77, of Spring Hill, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was born in Bridgeport, CT when his family was on vacation. Brooklyn, New York was where his story began and his home for most of his life. He and his wife Barbara Ferrara shared a love story for over 40 years. Together they moved with their family to Spring hill in 1991.Joseph owned several businesses in New York to include New Image Construction, Ferrara Bros. Air Conditioning & TV antennas, and 232 Quick Stop Deli. In Florida he owned Ferrara's Bistro in Palm Harbor. Joseph was a larger-than-life character. He presence commanded a room. He enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone. He always said you may leave his home happy, angry, or in tears, but you would never leave hungry. He also enjoyed music, dancing and art. Most of all, he loved his family. For Joseph, family always came first. This was his greatest love, and his true calling was being a dad and Papi. Joseph never met a stranger, and he would always lend a hand. Many today still call him friend.

He is preceded in death by his brother Charles Ferrara, Sister Rita Brummer and daughter Claudette Ferrara.

He is survived by His wife Barbara Ferrara. His daughters Lana Sitar (Andrew), Jaclyn Ferrara, and Christina Ferrara (Irfan Muhammad) all of Florida. His brother Steven Ferrara of New York. His In laws and bonus children William Battle of CT. Raymond Sefrin (Michelle) of Spring Hill and NY, Stacy Carlucci of CT and Maryann Perry of Florida. He was blessed to have 6 grandsons Andrew Sitar IV, Dylan Joseph Sitar, Brysen Gormley, Jasun Samulski, Humza Muhammad, and Taymur Muhammad. He was blessed with nephews Vito Carlucci Jr., Erik Battle, Lukas Battle and nieces Heather Battle, Dessiray Cowles, Rebecca Sweetman, Lilly Carlucci and Maria Battle

A visitation for Joseph will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, followed by a celebration of life from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
