Marie A Maier

Marie A. Maier, age 80, of Spring Hill, FL, (formerly of Winona, MN) passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 Marie was born in Dodge, WI, on May 3, 1934, to the late Frank and Genevieve Pelowski. She married Melvin (Doc) Maier on June 2, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI. Marie was a stay at home mother taking care of her three boys. No matter what mischief her sons got into Ma was always there with a warm heart and a loving smile. Her love and devotion to her boys never wavered. As her boys reached adulthood, Marie took on a far less stressful career working at TRW. She retired from TRW in 1996. She lived in Winona MN until 2008 when Melvin and Marie moved to Spring Hill FL. Marie was never able to truly enjoy her retirement years because of the loss of her two sons Ron and Bob and nephew Rick Fabian who all died at a very young age. This hardship took a heavy toll on her both physically and emotionally. She is survived by her husband Melvin (Doc) Maier and son: James (Sheri) Maier of Rollingstone, MN; daughter-in-law Stacy Maier of South St Paul, MN; grandson Ryan Maier of Rollingstone, MN; and granddaughter, Amanda (Ben) Leisen of Fridley, MN. Great grandchildren: Nolan and Clara Leisen of Fridley, MN; sister Celine Sobotta of Milwaukee, WI; sister-in-law Rita Wicka of Dodge, WI, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons Ronald and Robert Maier, Parents, twin sister Rosie Fabian; brothers Melvin Wicka, Clarence Wicka, James Wicka, and Leonard Wicka; sisters-in-law Deloris Wicka and Maryann (Thomas) Wicka; brothers-in-law Ben Sabotta and Kermit Fabian. Marie loved her family and 2 dogs Missy and Bailey. She will be deeply missed by her family. Services will be held at a later date.
