Nancy Y Beckwith, age 73, died on December 21, 2016 with the help and aide of HPH Hospice care after a battle with cancer. Nancy was born February 27, 1943 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Andrew and Jane Shannon. As a young woman, she loved boating on the Chesapeake Bay. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed reading books from paper backs to recently on her kindle. Once she retired, she developed a love of golfing with her friends at Heritage Pines who she considered part of her family. Nancy has a younger brother, Paul Shannon, who lives in Texas with his wife Judy and children Lori and Sara. Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Don Youngblood, and raised two children together, Dan and Terri. Dan and his wife, Carla live in Maryland with their daughter Darby. Terri and her husband, Brett live in Maryland with their two daughters Riley and Reese. Sadly, she lost Don to cancer when he was a young man. Nancy lost another husband Robert Beckwith to cancer. Bob was a great love of Nancy’s and they enjoyed their life at Heritage Pines. Nancy’s capacity for love was again shared with Chuck Kirst. For the last years of her life she and Chuck were very happy enjoying playing golf, sharing families, taking trips and game nights with her friends at Wellington. Chuck felt his life was stagnant until be met Nancy. After their first date at Outback Steakhouse Chuck knew that this gal was for him. She dedicated her life to caring for other people as a Registered Nurse. Nancy’s career as a Nurse spanned fifty years as her soft gentle hands touched the lives of so many people. Nancy was the ultimate caregiver. First and foremost, she loved her family and friends. Taking care of other people came naturally to her and she loved others with a warmth that everyone could see and feel. Join us for a Celebration of Life where we will we will share stories, pictures and remember how wonderful Nancy was and how much we all loved her.
