

Patrick John Monroe was born on September 12, 1956 in Jersey City, New Jersey. On October 29, 2024 he sadly passed away from battling chronic medical conditions. Regardless of the diagnosis, he fought back, time after time; never giving up the fight to survive another day.
Patrick is preceded in death with his Father Martin Monroe Sr., Sister Josephine “Terry” Burkert, and his three brother’s Martin Jr, Michael and Robert Monroe. Patrick is survived by his loving Mother Josephine Monroe, his son Jamie Monroe and daughter Shannon Walton; as well as his grand children Colby, Morgan, Haley and Sadie.
Patrick graduated from South Brunswick High school in New Jersey. He was a Corporal in the United States Army, 4th Engineer Battalion-Infantry Division as a Combat Engineer. During his tenure in the Army, he was stationed at the “Lojwa” island-base camp in the Marshall Islands for the Enewetak Atoll Atomic Cleanup. During his tenure in the Army, he received multiple Letters of Commendation and Appreciation for outstanding performance, superior performance, loyal performance and professionalism performance earning himself a well deserved promotion. Following his Honorable discharge from the Army, he graduated from Pasco Community College in Florida, earning an Associate’s Degree in Science and Agri-Business Technology. Decades later, he retired from the Government having closed out his profession with the highest level of certification (Class A Waste/ Class A Water license); for Water Treatment Plant Operators in Florida.
Patrick was highly intelligent, always willing to lend a helping hand, loved his family, and he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed growing a garden, fishing, hunting, watching the Gators and Buccaneers football games, and sitting by a nicely built fire. He enjoyed cooking his famous meatball and sausage dish for everyone, and preparing his homemade chicken noodle soup for his mother. He enjoyed building structures, remodeling, and spending time at Lowe’s preparing for his next project. In his spare time he enjoyed helping neighbors, family, and friends with their electrical and plumber projects as well.
Patrick was a loving and caring son to his parents, a protective and devoted father to his children, and an affectionate and generous Papa to his grand-children. He was loved, respected, and admired so very much, and he will be deeply missed, cherished, and honored-forever in the hearts of those that loved and appreciated him.
Patrick will be laid to rest in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors.
