

Radames Rivera, age 86, of Spring Hill, FL died on Monday, September 21, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Radames was born in Jayuya, PR, in 1929, to the late Elias Rivera Negron & Juana Maria Rivera Alvarez. He met and married Fanny, his lovely wife, and they were together for 67 incredible years. As a young man, Radames left PR to join the Merchant Marines, and traveled the whole world. They moved from New York to Puerto Rico in 1962 and in 1977 they settled in Miami. His career was as an Executive Chef in the hotel industry. In 1992 he moved to Spring Hill, FL. and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Radames was preceded in death by his parents; son, Antonio Luis Costas and by two brothers, Arsenio Rivera and Eligio Rivera. Radames is survived by his wife Fanny and his children; Reno & Lisa Costas, of Morrisville, PA., Daly & Jorge Perera, Spring Hill, FL, Linda & Eddie Kildare, of Fajardo, PR., Jenny Rivera, of Plantation, FL., Julie Vadell & Sam Del Pozzo, of Brooksville, FL., Radamesito & Tracy Rivera, of Spring Hill, FL. He loved Rosin Rivera, of Spring Hill, FL and Margie & Joseph Ramos, of Spring Hill, FL. like his own children. Radames will be greatly missed by his grandchildren; Little Tony, Frankie, Neyda Luz, Little Reno, Natalie, Kathy, John Martin, Yaima, Yarely, Yudet, Jessica, Xiomara, Kaylee, Jennifer, Nelson Eddie, Mickey, Christina, Jamiel, Gia, Mario, Christopher, Brianna and Gabriela. One of his favorite phrases: “You don’t know, let me explain it to you” will always live in his family’s heart and bring a smile to their face. The love he shared with his lovely bride, Fanny, kept the family together and was a daily inspiration to those who knew and loved him. The family will gather at the Turner Funeral Homes Spring Hill Drive Chapel. The visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015, from 6-8PM, and the funeral services will be held at 7pm, with Father Bruce King, Pastor, St. Theresa Catholic Church, officiating. Radames will be placed in his place of final rest following cremation, at a later date. At the Rivera Families’ request, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to either the HPH Hospice Foundation and or the America Cancer Society. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home during the services.
