Ronald Leroy Smith

Ron was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 4, 1957. Ron is survived by his loving daughters, Heather Lee Rediger (Chad) of Lima, Ohio; and Lisa Marie Smith-Burlaud (Olivier) of Orlando, Florida; twin brother, Donald Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Linda Bradley (Chris) of Cleveland, Ohio; granddaughter, Brooke Alexandra (pregnant with Ron’s first great-grandchild); and grandson, Nickolas James, both of Lima, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Smith of Punta Gorda, Florida; best friend for more than 40 years, Sue Sprouse, of Elyria, Ohio; devoted girlfriend, Beth Vollinger of Brooksville, Florida; and loyal dog, Lulu.

Ron was a loving father, brother, grandfather, soon-to-be great-grandfather, partner, & friend. He was always so full of life, no matter the health setbacks & challenges he endured. Ron’s passions included flower & vegetable gardening - he took pride in his yard everyday! He enjoyed watching & going to football games, he was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan! Ron also enjoyed washing & detailing his beloved electric blue PT Cruiser, with chrome, baby moon wheels - he always said, “it’s a classic.”

Ron’s family & friends will always remember him as a caring, funny, & loving person. An intimate memorial, with devoted family & friends, was held at Ron & Beth’s home on Friday, November 21, 2019.
