Sara Y. "Sally" Doughty

Sara Y. “Sally” Doughty, age 89, of Spring Hill, FL died on December 6, 2016, at the Northbrook Health & Rehabilitation Center, in Brooksville. Sara was a resident of Spring Hill since 1995, coming from Horseheads, NY where she was a resident from 1964-1995. Sally was born on July 19, 1927, in McDonald, PA to the late William A. & Louise (Brownlee) Young. Sally graduated from McDonald High School, and Muskingum College in New Concord, OH. She completed her education and training as a Licensed Medical Technician at the Cleveland Clinic. Sally retired to become a great mother, and home maker. She loved to play golf, playing cards, and spending summers at Keuka Lake, NY. Sally was Presbyterian by faith and a longtime member of the Grace Presbyterian Church, in Spring Hill. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Griffith. Sally is lovingly survived by her husband of 66 years, Don Doughty, of Spring Hill, son, David (Theresa ) Doughty, of Moon Township, PA, and daughter, Jane Doughty, of Tampa, FL as well as grandson Robert Doughty of Moon Township, Pa, and granddaughter, Susan Doughty, of Anderson, SC. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 8375 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34606, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1 PM. Reverend Kaaren S. Nesmith, Pastor will officiate. A Reception will follow at the fellowship hall, of Grace Presbyterian Church. Funeral Arrangements and cremation are entrusted to the Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A private burial will be held at the Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sally’s name may be made to the church.
