

Born May 14, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, Alan began his a career in advertising. A determined entrepreneur, he co‑founded and served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Active International, building a career marked by creativity, hard work. He launched a small start-up from his kitchen into a global company with over 850 employees. Alan has also been recognized with many business awards, including the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame Lifetime Achieve Award, the Ernst & Young’s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and British American Business Inc.’s Averell Harriman International Trade Award to name a few.
Alan prioritized his involvement in the community by way of philanthropic affiliations with the American Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels, People to People, the Jewish Community Center, Good Samaritan Cardiac Institute, and Active Cares. Alan loved to travel, read, and constantly learn — he took on life with passion and an unmistakable, larger‑than‑life presence.
Alan married his beloved wife Bonnie 63 years ago; they were partners in every aspect of their life. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his daughter, Dayna; son-in-law Andrew; and his grandchildren Greyden, Elkin, Nolan, and Jarren. He was predeceased by his son, Gregg.
Funeral services will be held at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977, Friday February 27, 2026, 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652, Memorial contributions may be made by following your heart and support causes or charities that inspire you — a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much of himself.
Alan will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and the warm, passionate spirit he brought to every room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
