

Edith Walsky Packer of Nanuet, New York (also known as Ittala and Edie) passed gently on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. She lived a long and blessed life and is survived by her brother, Harold (Jeanne), her daughters Ellyce (Patrick) and Marcy (partner Glynnis) and her granddaughter, Sara, along with nieces and nephews across the country.
Born on July 21st, 1926 to Annie and Abraham Walsky, her childhood was spent in South Ozone Park Queens where she attended Hebrew School under the mentorship of beloved Rabbi Menahem Mendel Perr. There she formed lifelong friendships.
Edith was a loving, kind and generous mother to her two daughters, Ellyce and Marcy. She was devoted to her family and brought everyone together in her home for holidays and celebrations.
Edith was delighted to be with people and had many friends. Everyone who knew her loved her. Her sense of humor and zest for life were contagious. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 9, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977 with Rabbi Saul Wohlberg officiating. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Packer's memory may be made to: The Jewish National Fund or Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, New Jersey.
