Elizabeth "Lizz" Ann Cohen

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of the late Sydney and Barbara Cohen. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Joshua Cohen, and her niece, Jennifer Cohen.

She is survived by her brothers, Steven Cohen (Laurel) and William Cohen (Corinne); her cherished niece and nephew, Kimberly Foster (Zachary) and Brian Cohen (Jennifer); and her treasured great-nieces and nephew, Anna, Jacen, and Sophia. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her years of service.

Elizabeth who preferred to go by Lizz, was devoted to her community and dedicated her life to helping others. Early in her career, she worked with individuals with developmental disabilities, later transitioning into emergency care as an RN, where her compassion and commitment shone through in times of need. In the final chapter of her career, she returned to her roots, once again serving those with developmental disorders—bringing her journey full circle in the most meaningful way.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others. Her legacy of care and service will live on in all who knew her.

Graveside services for Ms. Cohen will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025 11:00 AM at Montebello Jewish Center Cemetery, Route 306 & Brick Church Road, New Hempstead, NY 10977.

Shiva will be at Lizzs home Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 1-5PM
