

Marilyn Gerber, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, educator, and public servant, passed away at the age of 95. She was the devoted wife of George Gerber, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Howard and Steven; her daughter-in-law, Susan; her grandchildren, Lauren and her husband Jeremy, Geoffrey and his wife Dorothy, Jessica, and Hannah; and Marilyn’s brother, Herbert, his wife, Sheila and their sons Mark, Brian, and Neil and their families.
Marilyn served as a Commissioner and Mayor of Coconut Creek, Florida, where she lead her community with passion and commitment to public service. Marilyn was a true New Yorker, as she was born and raised in East Harlem, NY, and she spent much of her life raising her own family in Rockland County. There, Marilyn was an elementary school teacher and involved in local politics alongside her husband, George. She discovered artistic talents later in life and filled much of her time painting and making 3D art. Marilyn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gerber will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Following the funeral service will be an interment at 2:30 PM at Temple Israel Memorial Park, Blauvelt, Blauvelt, NY 10913.
