Mary Blackman, a long time Peekskill resident, passed away peacefully, Monday, surrounded by family. Mary was born in New York City to Max and Rose Fleischman. She was one of five daughters. She married Irving Blackman in 1949. They were married for 51 years. Mary worked as a legal secretary for over 35 years. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey & (Corrine) Blackman, Amy Burckhard, Lori and (John) McDonald. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca, Sarah, Ariane, Joshua, David, Corinne and Kyle and 3 great grandchildren, Hudson, Bodhi, and Max as well as her sister Lillian Schweitzer. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving, and her son in law Paul Burckhard. The funeral will be today, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 10:30 AM at First Hebrew Congregation of Peekskill. Interment will follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Flushing, NY.
