Stephen Jacob Abrams

Stephen Abrams, age 90, of Spring Valley, NY, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and attended James Madison High School. He was an electrical engineer who earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheila, and his daughter, Sharon. He was an avid skier, boater, and loved theater, opera and travel. Stephen was a member of Mensa, The Institute of Radio Engineers (ham radio operator,) US Power Squadrons, a life member of Alpha Epsilon Pi, and the Knights of Pythias New City Orangetown Lodge 854 where he served as recording secretary and earned the Past Chancellor Commander distinction. His love of learning had him return to school to obtain a paralegal degree from Pace University and sit in on classes held at Rockland Community College.

He was passionate about his community and served as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Architectural Review Board of the Village of Wesley Hills along with working as the Village’s Code Enforcement Officer.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 1:00pm at Gates of Zion Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
