
Susan was born November 17, 1942 to Anne (Katz) and Paul Cohen. Her brother Marvin, and her sister Roslyn predeceased her.
Susan grew up in Brooklyn and attended Brooklyn College. Susan earned her degree in Speech Pathology, then later earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education.
Susan was a teacher in the New York Board of Education, and then a Special Education teacher at Rockland BOCES. Susan earned tremendous respect from her colleagues and Supervisors, often calling upon her to speak to district parents of students to discuss their children’s learning needs. It was through Susan’s efforts that computers were introduced into Woodglen Elementary School during the early 1980s.
Susan loved her family. Her most prominent distinction is in the role of Bubbi. Susan is survived by her daughter, Robin Gilman (Scott), Michele Green, her loving brother Ira Cohen, her most treasured people, her grandchildren Samuel and Rachel Gilman, and loving nephews and niece, Brian Hersh, Pamela and Jamie Cohen.
