Frank pursued learning with steady purpose, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, a Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University, and a Master’s of Health Administration from American University. His thoughtful discipline and genuine insight shaped the way he approached both work and life, and his wisdom was often felt in the calm confidence he brought to those around him.
Frank married Diana Engler, and together they built a family of three outstanding children. His devotion to family was expressed in consistent care, principled guidance, and the kind of presence that set a positive example.
In his career, Frank was a dedicated leader in management roles at Kettering Health Network. Through hard work and a selfless commitment to the people and communities served, he helped strengthen the organization’s presence across the region. He implemented the “K for Life” Campaign, helping make the “K” a successful brand across Dayton and the Miami Valley—work that reflected his steady leadership.
Outside of his professional life, Frank found joy in pursuits that rewarded patience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. He enjoyed photography and painting, and he delighted in modeling trains, cars, and planes. An avid gardener and a lover of nature and animals, he carried a deep appreciation for the world around him. He was also a voracious reader and a capable DIY auto mechanic—interests that reflected both his work ethic and his practical, generous spirit.
Frank also gave his time to the broader community, serving as a Board Member of the Good Neighbor House in Dayton, participating with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, and as a former member of the Wallace Kettering Neuroscience Institute. In these roles, his integrity and steady sense of responsibility were evident, and his example encouraged others to serve with the same care.
Frank is survived by his wife, Diana Engler; his sons, Frank Engler III (Julie), Chris Engler, and Michael Engler (Abbey); his brothers, Herb Engler and Joe Engler; his sister, Mary Engler; and his grandchildren, Gigi Engler, Noah Engler, and Evan Engler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 1st, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Parish. Visitation will take place after 10:00 a.m. until the start of Mass at church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, in Kettering Ohio.
