Kory's battle with his illness was courageous to say the least. Despite the pain, he remained positive and full of humor. He left this world a hero, donating both of his eyes, and stayed strong until the very end.
Kory was born January 28, 1963 to Peggy and Charlie Smith and three older siblings - Kelly, Kerry and Kristy.
While at Springboro HS (Class of '81), he began trade school with Warren County Career Center and finished top of his class in welding.
In July of 1984, Kory married his beautiful bride Kimberlee Niswonger in his parent's backyard. They started a family and welcomed three sons - - Bruce, Norman and Dennis. Later, Andrew Baker joined the family as one of their own.
Kory rarely missed a monthly birthday celebration at Peggy and Charlie's where many memories, and cake, were made with family - including sisters in-law Becky & Carla, and brother in-law Terry. Kory loved being with his nieces and nephews and spending time with his in-laws Bruce & Diane Niswonger.
His love for woodworking and carpentry came to life at their family farm in Lebanon. Kory also enjoyed hunting, mowing his property, tinkering in the garage and a good episode of Ancient Aliens.
Kory's greatest accomplishment was his family.
His sons married great girls - Tiffany, Courtney and Jenn and they soon welcomed their beloved grandchildren, "The Littles".
The absolute loves of his life - Ryker Norman was his shadow, Perry Grace was his princess and another baby due in the fall was something Kory had to look forward to. Papaw was their world and they will never know a life without him.
Kory was a father figure to many and everyone was always welcome.
He was the 'go to guy' for problems or advice and Mr. Fix-It for almost anything.
Funeral Services are 6pm Friday May 13, 2022 at Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St Springboro, OH. Visitation will be Friday from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
What we'll miss the most was his view on life and his simple appreciation for everything, big or small. Forever with him wasn't long enough.
