Steven R. Gerhard

Steven R. Gerhard passed peacefully on August 6, 2022 after suffering complications from dementia. Steven was born December 16, 1950. Upon graduation from Northeast High School in 1968, Steven was recruited by the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD to work on the initial Univac Computer Operation Systems at the agency. From an eventual programming career there, in 1976 he left to pursue opportunities in the private sector. In 1999, he accepted a job at Reynolds & Reynolds in Dayton, Ohio and was promoted to Vice President of Software Development that same year. In 2006, Steven retired from Reynolds & Reynolds and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, traveling and on-line stock trading.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Lynn Gerhard, his children Shelley Perone (Mark) and his son Steven R. Gerhard, Jr. (Ellen), and three granddaughters, Joslyn Gerhard, Bria Gerhard, and Cora Perone, and his siblings, Ellen Frazier, Tammy Taylor, and Samuel Maeby.

Visitation will be Saturday August 13th at The Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street in Springboro from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
