

Aden was born July 26, 1932 in Springfield, the son of Aden H. and Phyllis Marie Davidson Lauchner. He married Mary Lou Smith in 1953 in Springfield.
A graduate of Springfield High School, Aden earned a degree in Architecture from the U of I. He was a founder of the Lauchner Maslauski Architectural Firm and later founded Lauchner and Lauchner, Inc in 1972 with his wife, Mary Lou. His son, David, joined the firm in 1984. The office closed in 2009. Aden was a member of the Baha’i’ Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Lauchner of Springfield; son, David (Judy Krone) Lauchner of Belleville; two daughters, Karen Hoffer of Jacksonville and Stephanie (Michael) Phillips of Dawson; five grandchildren, Allison (Jeffrey) Lauchner Brose, Jesse (Annie) Lauchner, Michelle (Nick) Lauchner Hogan, Amy (Jeremy) Beacham Armstrong, and Shane Phillips; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Ave. West, Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home conducted by the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’i’s of Springfield. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery.
