Alan "Bubby" Chase

Alan was born on April 20, 1964, in Springfield, the son of Winthrop Chase and Joane Dalluge. He (finally) married Dara L. Matson on April 23, 2013, in Las Vegas, NV, after 23 years together.

Alan graduated from Griffin High School in 1982. He worked as a bartender for Four Seasons Sports Bar and for B & B Electric, Inc. for 25 years. Alan enjoyed golfing, having a drink with family and friends, and watching sports. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Notre Dame, Fighting Illini, and the St. Louis Blues.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Dara of Springfield; daughters, Kyli (Derek) Chase, and Megan (Casey) Chase, both of Springfield; siblings, Kathy (Dan) DeSalle of Springfield, Debbie Chase of McLean, VA, and Jeff (Michele) Woods of Athens; his beloved in-laws; several nieces and nephews; and his cherished dogs, Walter and Greta.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Family will receive visitors following the ceremony until 5:30 p.m. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings. The family encourages you to dress in casual or sports attire.
