Albert E. Hohenstein Jr (Eddie), 94, passed away on April 11, 2013 in Springfield, Illinois. He was born in Springfield on December 4, 1918 to A.E. Hohenstein Sr. and Ellen Gibbons. He married Katheryn (Kathy) Palmer on January 5, 1945 and she passed away on September 12, 1994. He lived with his daughter and son-in-law since that time and later found companionship with Lillie Riney, a special friend.
Ed was baptized into Christ at West Side Christian Church in 1952. He was also a U.S. Army WWII veteran and retired from the U.S.Postal Service in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and his dear wife, Kathy.
He is survived by three children, A.Edward (Nancy) Hohenstein III of Springfield, James (Sheryl) Hohenstein of New York, New York, and Kathy Jo (Ronald) Stuva of Springfield. He is also survived by five grandsons, Craig Williams II, KurtBob Williams, Cameron Stuva, Albert E. Hohenstein IV, James Hohenstein, and one granddaughter born on the same day his wife passed away, Katheryn (Katie) Stuva and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Will be 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, April 14 at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S Koke Mill Rd Springfield IL 62711
Funeral Service: Will Be 12:00 noon on Monday, April 15 at Bisch Funeral Home West.
Burial: At a later time at Camp Butler National Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County or West Side Christian Church, Springfield, Illinois.
