Albert Louis Pitts, 58, of Springfield, died at 2:19 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Albert was born August 23, 1956 in Springfield. He married Nina Bolton on November 2, 2013 in Springfield. Albert worked at Peabody Coal Mine in Pawnee for over 10 years, and then worked as a factory worker for Dial Corp. in St. Louis, MO for 23 years. He enjoyed watching the morning news and game shows, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Pitts and grandparents, Jack and Stella Feleccia. He is survived by his wife, Nina Pitts of Springfield; mother, Mary (husband, Charles) Choate of Springfield; one sister, Cindy Knowles of Springfield; two nieces, Cecily and Amber Tomlin; one stepson, Justin Bolton of Divernon; one stepbrother, Charlie Choate Jr. of Elkhart, IN; two stepsisters, Kelly Choate of Athens and Lucy Choate of Effingham; and a large extended family. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private family ceremonies were held.
