Alberta E. Wardlow

She was born on September 17, 1922 in Clinton, TN, the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Hill) Hickson. She married Buoy “Joe” Guard Wardlow and he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1996.

Mrs. Wardlow worked as a nurse’s aid at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield for 51 years. She was a member of 2nd Baptist Church in Clinton, TN.

She is survived by 3 sons, Michael Wardlow of Springfield, Kenny (wife Lynda) Wardlow of Springfield, and Mark (wife Diane) Wardlow of Mesa, AZ, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a 2 sons, Steven and Richard Wardlow, 1 sister and 4 brothers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 11 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Charlie Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.

Memorials may be made to the Carol Jo Vecchie Women’s and Children’s Center.
