

She was born in Clinton on September 26, 1948, the daughter of Richard and Donna (Taylor) Baker. Alecia married Thomas A. Butler in Clinton on April 1, 1972. He preceded her in death in 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Alecia graduated from Clinton High School with the class of 1966. She retired from the State of Illinois after 35 years of service. Alecia worked as a caseworker for Public Aid, where she enjoyed helping others in need. In her spare time, Alecia was an avid reader and book collector. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and traveling. Alecia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She also loved animals and rescued many to give them a loving home.
Alecia is survived by her son, Michael (Amy) Butler of Chatham; daughter, Shelley (Joe) Tulipana of Springfield; grandchildren, Sylas and Ezekiel Butler, Logan and Kylie Tulipana, and Jacob and Jack Boley; sibling Marti (Dean) Rich; and great-granddaughter, Kaylani Tulipana.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home - Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
