

Allyn E. Crouse, Jr., 72, of Springfield, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Allyn was born on February 19, 1946 in Springfield, the son of Allyn E., Sr. and Naidine E. Watson Crouse. He married Donna Hawkins on September 1, 1994 in Springfield. Allyn was self-employed with Crouse Construction and Remodeling. He was previously employed with the U.S. Postal Service on Cook Street. Allyn enjoyed helping others, also camping, kayaking, motorcycle riding, and especially spending time with family and friends. He was a special man who touched many hearts with his giving nature. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Donna Crouse of Springfield; one son, Michael Crouse of Springfield; one daughter, Melissa Franklin of Sherman; four grandchildren, Zach and Katie Crouse and Garrett and Tess Franklin; one great-granddaughter, Madison; two siblings, Bob Crouse and Sharon Anderson; and former wife, Sue Patkes. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Southwind Park in Springfield. A tree will be planted during this time in memory of Allyn. Private burial will be held at a later date at Auburn Cemetery with Senior Pastor Jonathan B. Franklin of Mt. Zion Apostolic Church officiating.
